If I can take ordinary, everyday objects and situations, make them strange and wonderful for a moment, then maybe--just maybe--I can get people to remember how astonishing our daily lives really are.¨ Such is the goal of Stuart Hooper, illusionist from California. Hooper has traveled the world from a young age and currently resides in the Republic of Panama. His experiences with different cultures and languages have allowed him to bring a unique vision to the ancient art of magic. He has performed his brand of intimate magic repeatedly at Panama's largest chain of casinos, on television, and at the most exclusive private events in both Panama and the United States. Although Hooper was critically acclaimed to have "perfected the art of magic" (PANAMA AMERICA) several years ago, he continues to seek new ways to bring a touch of mystery to the stage. In 2008 he was inducted into the prestigious Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood, California, and has been training furiously since in order to bring a larger show to Panama. - From the Program to La Magia de La Opera (2009)
Capitalizing on the success of La Magia de la Opera and it’s subsequent media furor, Stuart is currently documenting his preparations for coming illusion shows in a Television program intended for Spanish language broadcast in the United States. Specifically designed for the multilingual immigrant culture that in many ways shares Stuart’s own experiences, this program ventures into new realms for the art of magic.
